Defensive Indifference

Linked above is the glorious footage of Anthony La Russa, Jr.’s arrest and booking on suspicion of DUI back in March. Here you’ll see him passed out at an intersection in his SUV, fail a field sobriety test, and get breathylzed back at the station. Two highlights among many: the very beginning when the cops excitedly realize the passed out man is Tony La Russa and awaken him to notify him that he had been passed out in his car at a stoplight, to which the reputedly brilliant La Russa responds “Is that a problem?” Also, the very end when he’s asked if he has inner ear problems. La Russa at first says no, then says yes he had a “virus” and tries to claim that it effected his balance and that the problem “continues.” Nice try, buddy, maybe you should’ve thought to mention that when you were stumbling through the field test.
